Cybersalad.net and IP Addresses
We avoid extremes and maintain our policy of flexibility with
the issue of IP addressing. Cybersalad.net will give customers their
own IP address upon request so long as there is justification for
it. Many hosting companies either force their customers to share
IPs when it's detrimental to the customer or they hand out IP addresses
like candy on Halloween and waste a valuable internet commodity.
We operate according to the policy specified by the American Registry
for Internet Numbers. The essence of policy is fair and responsible
use of IP addresses and "justified need". One such need
would be an SSL certificate bound to the specific site ( a shared
cert doesn't require a separate IP ). There are more examples but
we've found that most customers that need an IP generally know why
they need it and we rarely deny an IP request.
